Solar InnoWorkshop x Skyhigh Creative Partners: DIY Solar Light Jar

Each pair of hands that brings selfless dedication to the family can make warm handicrafts at home and make good use of the renewable energy given by nature. The representative Thierry Leung from Skyhigh Creative Partners invited women of "SPA Project" from the St. James’ Settlement to participate in the solar decorative light jar workshop under the leading of Codesmine Academy founder Daniel and tutor Vincy to experience this interesting environmental protection activities.

In order to relieve the pressure of individuals in the epidemic, Thierry especially took a simple relaxation exercise with the participants before the beginning of the workshop. Through closing the eyes and diaphragmatic breathing, the tension and muscles were relaxed. Continue to practice at home in the future can maintain a healthy body and mind. We were grateful to the volunteers who attended the nursing school on the day to help participants who are not familiar with the internet for online learning. Some volunteers even use their mobile phones to broadcast the teaching process to the participants, so that each student can clearly understand each step and finish making the full pretty night light in personal style.

It is unforgettable that the participants were dedicated to the DIY process. They tried to paint the night lights with their favorite colors according to the instructions, and from time to time showed each other hand-painted effects in front of the camera to share joy and achievements. During the sharing after workshop, the participants even shared that they thought they had no artistic talent, but in the end they were able to paint beautiful paintings on glass bottles by themselves. They were very excited and satisfied, and frankly regained their confidence in painting. The concentration in the process also allowed them to experience a period of peacefulness. They can understand whether they are making crafts or learning new things, the process can be a spiritual nutrient that can help them take care of their emotions and develop their future lives. The SolarCare InnoWorkshop is dedicated to raising the public's awareness of environmental protection, while caring for people from different social strata and positions, with the goal of creating a better life together. As one of the participants thought after the class: "We must not lose hope in life." As long as we have hope in our hearts, this world will become more fruitful.
