Solar Light Jar Workshop x Caritas Cheng Shing Fung District Elderly Centre (Sham Shui Po): DIY Solar Light Jar
On 27th September, CarbonCare InnoLab hosted a solar light jar workshop together with Caritas Cheng Shing Fung District Elderly Centre (Sham Shui Po). A total of 24 ethnic minority women and local women joined our workshop.
The Workshop began with an introductory talk of climate change, feed-in-tariff and solar energy generation, and explaining why we have to mitigate climate change by changing our energy mix.
After the talk, the participants began decorating their solar light jars under the guidance of our team. They paint flowers or butterflies on the jar, and some of them design the patterns themselves. This light jar allows solar energy to seamlessly penetrate into our daily lives, reminding us renewable energy could save our planet.
