Climate Fresk X Yan Chai Hospital No.2 Secondary School

On 26 January 2024, we hosted a "Climate Fresk" game for the Form 4 students of Yan Chai Hospital No.2 Secondary School. The game aimed to help students understand the complex causes and impacts of climate change through a card game.

Climate change is a major crisis we are facing, but the related knowledge is extensive and complicated, involving various fields such as geography, chemistry, biology, social sciences, and more. The causes and impacts are often intertwined. Originating in France, "Climate Fresk" makes it easier for everyone to understand how human behaviour contributes to the climate crisis.

On that day, approximately 40 students were divided into 4 groups. Each group was assigned a set of cards depicting the causes and impacts of climate change for them to place in order. After the first round, additional cards were gradually added, making the game more challenging. During this process, the students had the opportunity to acquire scientific knowledge about climate change, and some of them expressed that the game was a lot of fun.

We hope this game can make them aware that every action we take can potentially impact nature, and that they can make more environmentally friendly choices in their daily lives. The "Hang Seng Low Carbon Future- SolarCare Programme” is offering FREE "Climate Fresk" sessions* for schools and NGOs, and participating groups can also choose to engage in additional green activities.
