Kwai Chung Low Carbon Community Action X Community Leap Online Electricity Maintenance Class
CarbonCare InnoLab conducted "Energy Care Community Action - Kwai Chung '' programme launches a brand-new community education project, aiming at the community to practice climate adjustment and climate justice, and build a community with high climate resilience. Kwai Chung District is our first community goal. It is hoped that in the future, other areas of Hong Kong can be developed to promote low-carbon life and practice climate justice. The service targets are subdivided households and elderly people living alone. We hope that more people in need will be benefited when the project develops more mature.
CarbonCare InnoLab organized the "Online Appliance Maintenance Class” on 24th April. Technician from the organization “Repair Cafe Hong Kong” was invited to hold the talk through a virtual meeting platform. The means to disassemble, clean the fan and dehumidifier were explained to the neighbors in Kwai Chung by the experienced Technician.
Residents in Kwai Chung have a positive attitude towards this activity. They listened attentively and were eager to ask questions throughout the event. Participants acknowledged the means to maintain electrical appliances properly through this activity, which can enhance energy efficiency, prolong the life of electrical appliances, and reduce chances of throwing away the appliances.
