Solar InnoWorkshop X Caritas Cheng Shing Fung District Elderly Centre (Sham Shui Po) : DIY Solar Light Jar
Today, we gather 20 elderly in Caritas Elderly Centre for the Solar Light Jar workshop. This time, all the participants showed up and they were thrilled to participate in the DIY sessions. Before we move on to the decorating session, a talk on Solar Energy and climate change were delivered by our staff.
The elderly begin by drawing a line with a line drawing pen, as demonstrated by the tutor. Some utilized compasses to assist create a finer line, demonstrating their inventiveness. The tutor used the three glass pigments of red, yellow, and blue as the fundamental colours and taught them to mix more than two colours in order to create new hues, such as green and orange, once all of the elderly had completed the line drawing section, they started mixing paint on paper and then applying it to glass. Everyone made inventive and stunning designs that were integrated with ecologically friendly solar-powered lights at the end of the class.
The class ended followed by dinner time. According to the workshop leader, the entire workshop was conducted in a cheerful atmosphere. It would be wonderful to relax while learning about the climate disaster during the handcrafting process.
