Technology of solar energy is developing rapidly. Do you want to know what are some of the latest solar innovations? At the webinar on 17 March, Dr Sam K.H. Lam, Lecturer of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of University of Hong Kong, shared with us the development and theory of solar electric vehicles. Dr Sam K.H. Lam (Lecturer, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Hong Kong)
Dr. Sam K.H. LAM received his bachelor degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 1994. He worked in the Building Services industry after graduation and then returned to the Alma Mater for joining the HKU Photovoltaic research team in 1998. He participated in many pioneer works on promoting the application of Photovoltaic systems in Hong Kong. He was a member of the task group led by EMSD for drafting the Technical Guidelines on Grid Connection of Renewable Energy Power Systems. In 2007, he received his Ph D in Architecture from The University of Hong Kong and then started working in the Photovoltaic industry. In May 2014, he was appointed as Lecturer at the University of Hong Kong.
Ir Lee Chi Ming (Board chairman of CarbonCare InnoLab)
Ir Lee Chi Ming (B.Sc (Eng)(Civil); M.Sc.(Urban Planning); M.Sc.(IDM) has been the chairman of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Hong Kong Association (2013-2015) and is currently the Hong Kong Representative in the ICE Council (2013-2017). Before his retirement from Water Supplies Department after 32 years of service, CM was the head of the Design Division, overseeing the design and construction of a portfolio of projects of over HK$4 billion. He has extensive experience in project planning, finance and management, as well as EIA and sustainability studies.
CM has also been actively participating in voluntary work. He was appointed member in the Council of the Hong Kong Examination and Assessment Authority and was the deputy chairman in several committees. He is vice-chairman of the local think-tank "Land Watch", which specializes in policy study on Hong Kong land issues, and a member of the Strategy Committee of The Professional Commons.
