"Understanding Renewable Energy” Webinar Series (1): Energy Sources and Climate Change & (2): Renewable Energy and Its application X HKBU CIE: Geography and Resources Management Concentration Studies

COP 26 has ended last month. Countries have suggested measures to slow climate change and attain carbon neutrality, and all countries must act quickly. To achieve the goal of "net-zero carbon dioxide emissions" accelerate the use of renewable energy to replace fossil-fuel power generation. Today, it is our honour to deliver a talk on climate change and renewable energy to students studying the Geography and Resources Management Concentration Studies at the College of International Education of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU CIE). Mr Ken Tai, who is our Senior Project Engineer, first presented the energy development process and history, which helped students comprehend the causes of climate change, as well as the engineering expertise needed to design solar power systems. At the end of the lesson, Kylie Lai, the Programme Officer of CCIL, reviewed the efficacy of international agreements with students and discussed climate change and worldwide climate action, as well as the usage of renewable energy in Hong Kong.

Nevertheless, a special shout out goes to Dr Karen Woo, the Associate Programme Director of Applied Science Division, CarbonCare InnoLab was very much appreciated for her help to encourage students to learn more. Together we nurture the students to take part in combating climate change in the future.
