Kwai Chung Low Carbon Community Action Group 3 Phase 3 Visit -- Collecting Environmental Data
CarbonCare InnoLab conducted "Energy Care Community Action - Kwai Chung '' programme launches a brand-new community education project, aiming at the community to practice climate adjustment and climate justice, and build a community with high climate resilience. Kwai Chung District is our first community goal. It is hoped that in the future, other areas of Hong Kong can be developed to promote low-carbon life and practice climate justice. The service targets are subdivided households and elderly people living alone. We hope that more people in need will be benefited when the project develops more mature.
CarbonCare InnoLab carried out the third visit to the third group of subdivided flat households on 6th Jan. Through conversing with the households, we invited a licensed electric technician from Community Leap to assist in repairing the malfunctioning fans and ventilation fans last time. During the third visit, our staff collected the environmental data of subdivided flat households which will be compared with the data collected in our first visit for further analysis. Also, we distributed the New Year's gifts provided by the "Health in Action" to the subdivided households to send New Year's blessings.
After several visits for data collection, it is discovered that the durable LED light tubes not only brighten up the living environment, but also maintain a higher energy efficiency. As climate change has been adversely affecting the subdivided flat households, it is crucial and urgent to improve their living environment.
