Public SolarVisit X Hong Kong Playground Association (Silvermine Bay Camp)

CarbonCare InnoLab is dedicated to promoting the use of renewable energy. It is intended that each of us in the society would gain a better understanding of climate change and the benefits of renewable energy.  This time, we cooperated with Hong Kong Playground Association (HKPA) to hold a public solar visit located in Silvermine Bay Camp on November 12, 2022. There were a total of 37 participants that took part in the activity. On that day, when we arrived at the HKPA campsite, our instructor had first presented the beliefs of the SolarCare programme and the will to promote the idea of renewable energy due to the urges to alleviate climate change. Followed by the introduction, it was the guided tour with the presentation. Our instructor has guided the participants to see the solar systems on the building rooftop there, then presented solar panels, solar chair and meter there, and their practical usage for our daily life. During the process, it was enlightening to see many participants were highly engaged in the event and asked a lot of interesting questions. At the end of the event, the participants were given the chance to get the taste of the operation of the solar panels. They were so immersed in the activity and had a lot of fun. The public solar visit not only enables more people to understand solar energy in an interesting way but also creates a wonderful experience for them.
