Solar InnoWorkshop x Tsim Sha Tsui District Kai Fong Association Neighbourhood Elderly Activities Centre : DIY Solar Light Jar
CarbonCare InnoLab arranged a Solar InnoWorkshop on April 28 for the members of the Tsim Sha Tsui District Kwai Fong Association Neighbourhood Elderly Activities Centre to participate. In this workshop, the tutor taught participants how to draw and make solar-powered decorative lights with the theme of "Plants and Flowers". The tutor designed three patterns, including lily, cherry blossoms and daisy for participants to choose from. Through drawing the natural scenery, it is hoped that the participants could release stress and have a happy minds.
Under the demonstration of the tutor, participants first drew a line with a golden line drawing pen. In usual, the members serve the community as volunteers but during this workshop, they took the roles as participants. They showed their creativity by designing different natural elements such as birds, trees and flower totems. While focusing on their handcrafts, they chatted with each other relaxingly.
Some participants thought that this workshop was meaningful for the elderly while others pointed out that this was their first time using glass pigments. They found it interesting and novel. CarbonCare InnoLab is delighted to have the opportunity to organize this DIY Solar Light Jar Workshop for the elderly. Everyone, regardless of age and sector, can combat climate change by saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.
