Understanding Renewable Energy” Webinar Series (3): Solar PV System: Structure, Evaluation and Management
“Solar PV System: Structure, Evaluation and Management” is the third webinar in the “Understanding Renewable Energy” Webinar Series. This webinar was held on 22 October for the public. Mr Ken Tai, Senior Project Engineer of CarbonCare InnoLab, with rich solar project experience, shared with the audience all they want to know about building a solar PV system and Feed-in-Tariff.
Ken began with sharing some basic knowledge of electricity, then he introduced the components of a solar PV system and different kinds of solar cells, explained how the system ran, its installation process and maintenance. Ken’s hands-on experience allows him to share useful tips for those who are interested to install solar systems. The participants actively asked him questions, including the lifespan of a solar panel, how to get energy generation data of the system, whether an escape route is needed in the solar site, whether the panels could be built as a shelter above cycling routes in Hong Kong.
We hope that with this knowledge, the public would have more confidence to install solar PV systems and support the development of renewable energy in Hong Kong.
