CarbonCare® Label 2020 Online Briefing & Case Sharing - Race to Zero for Sustainable Recovery

On 2 September 2020, CarbonCare InnoLab (CCIL) and Carbon Care Asia (CCA) jointly organized CarbonCare® Label Online Briefing & Case Sharing. The webinar comprises two sessions: introduction of CarbonCare® Label and case sharing under the theme of “Race to Zero for Sustainable Recovery”. The Sustainability Consultants of CCA introduced the application procedure of CarbonCare® Label, CarbonCare®ESG Label and CarbonCare® Circularity Label. CarbonCare® Label awardees were invited to share their experiences in promoting sustainability development. Participants were inspired by the fruitful discussions.

The CarbonCare® Label online briefing was kicked start by Ir Albert Lai, CEO of CCA, followed by Mr Harold Yip, Co-founder and Executive Director of SSID together with Ms Lam Wan Yee, Sustainability Consultant, CCA to introduce the newly-added label -- the CarbonCare® Circularity Label. This is the first label in Asia that is awarded to organisations based on quantitative measurement of the organisation-wide circularity performance, using data such as materials purchased, disposed and recycled throughout the organisation. Immediately after the CarbonCare® Circularity Label, Ms Ida Huang, Sustainability Consultant, CCA also explained to the participants how to apply for the CarbonCare® Label, CarbonCare®ESG Label and CarbonCare® Star Label.

The last session of the day was a case sharing by awardees of CarbonCare® Label. Ir Dr Shelley Zhou, Expert Associate of CCA together with representatives of three label awarded organizations sharing their experience and insights. Participants learnt about how companies and organizations can effectively respond to the public's expectations for sustainable development in the rapidly changing market, as well as how should companies cope with the new normal under the coronavirus epidemic.

The CarbonCare® Label 2020 Online Briefing & Case Sharing ended with the appeal of Mr Chong Chan Yau, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, CCIL. He pointed out that CarbonCare® Label is an investment in the environment. He hopes that all stakeholders can work together and build a sustainable society for the next generation.
