Virtual SolarVisit X Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Kwun Tong Center

The Solar Online Tour of the Jockey Club SolarCare Programme brings young people to discuss the construction of solar energy systems, understanding the development of solar panels through the online conferences. Together with the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Kwun Tong Center, CarbonCare InnoLab held a solar energy online conversation for sixteen primary and junior secondary students. It was our honour to have Clement Leung, the former head of the Mechanical and Electrical (Projects) Division in the Water Supplies Department. During the virtual SolarVisit, a comprehensive overview of the solar energy system in Hong Kong was given to the students, and they could understand the benefits of such renewable energy and its future development in Hong Kong. According to the event host from the YMCA Hong Kong Kwun Tong Center, the students will be joining the field trip at Hong Kong Wetland Park and they actively raised questions as well as awareness on the solar panel system at the Wetland, enhancing their own knowledge in renewable energy and climate change. Moreover, after the online SolarVisit, a knowledge foundation over solar energy was established for their further visit to Hong Kong Wetland Park, which provided a deeper understanding of the environmental perspective to Hong Kong teenagers. CarbonCare InnoLab will continue to hold different SolarVisit to take the public into the world of renewable energy. For details of future events, please subscribe to our Facebook announcements.
