Product Description:

Climate change has led to changes in precipitation patterns, making some areas drier. Prolonged drought can result in water source depletion and declining groundwater levels, leading to water scarcity.

To prevent water evaporation from reservoirs, the Sylmar, Los Angeles, United States, introduced a method of covering the water surface with around ninety thousand black plastic balls which absorb sunlight and reduce heat transfer to the water surface. It is said to prevent the evaporation of 1.1 billion liters of water. Inspired by this project, six students from Youth College (International) invented a solar-powered floating device that can also cover the water surface to prevent water evaporation. Moreover, it serves multiple functions, including condensing air into water, purifying water, and providing shelter and habitat for marine organisms. It functions as a small-scale ecosystem. The device also has a sensor to collect environmental data.
