ASECCC 2026

The Asia Solar Energy for Climate Change Conference (ASECCC 2026) will be held virtually from September 23–24, 2026. Organised by CarbonCare InnoLab under this year’s theme, “Reshaping Solar Lifecycle for Community Resilience,” the conference gathers regional policymakers, community advocates, industry leaders, academics, and sustainability practitioners to drive a deeply just, localised energy transition across Asia by transforming how we plan, deploy, and decommission solar energy.

The urgency of this mission is clear. While the global energy landscape has reached a historic inflection point—with renewables overtaking coal and solar power emerging as the fastest-growing energy source in history. Yet, despite this remarkable progress, approximately 150 million people across Asia and the Pacific still live without access to electricity. This persistent energy gap highlights a critical reality: the energy transition must accelerate not only in scale, but also in equity—ensuring that the benefits of renewable energy directly reach the populations that need them most.

In Asia, the central challenge of the energy transition goes far beyond finance or technology; it lies in establishing a system that is socially just and community-driven. ASECCC 2026 is reshaping community energy resilience from the ground up. By securing renewable energy at the grassroots level, we aim to transform local communities from passive energy users into active, collaborative partners in shaping their own energy future.

Achieving true community energy resilience requires a fundamental rethinking of the entire solar lifecycle—from initial development through to decommissioning. The conference serves as a strategic platform to ensure the solar journey is built upon inclusive beginnings and sustained through responsible endings. By bridging equitable planning, innovative financing, and localized technology at the start with circular end-of-life regulations and innovations at the finish, we can ensure the energy transition delivers lasting social, economic, and environmental value.

By grounding discussions in real-world applications and practical solutions, ASECCC 2026 seeks to transform the solar lifecycle into a resilient, community-driven force—delivering energy security for households while advancing long-term climate justice across the region.
