Powering Asia's Resilience with Solar

ASECCC 2025
The Asia Solar Energy for Climate Change Conference (ASECCC 2025) will be held virtually from August 27–29, 2025, organised by CarbonCare InnoLab. This year’s theme, “Powering Asia's Resilience with Solar,” calls on governments, institutions, the private sector, civil society, and all stakeholders to prioritise renewable energy and take bold, transformative action for a resilient future.
Climate change remains one of the most urgent challenges facing humanity, with the world falling short of the 1.5°C target outlined in the Paris Agreement. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) confirmed that 2024 was the hottest year on record, with global average surface temperatures 1.55°C above pre-industrial levels (1850–1900). These alarming figures underscore the need for immediate, decisive climate action.
Asia is among the regions most vulnerable to climate change, facing rising sea levels, extreme heat waves, floods, droughts, and increasingly unpredictable weather events. Millions of people, particularly in densely populated urban centers and coastal zones, are already at risk. As COP30 approaches, nations are preparing the next cycle of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)—a critical opportunity for global alignment to limit warming to 1.5°C. Cities, as hubs of economic activity and population density, have the power to drive localized climate action, implement innovative solutions, and set examples for scalable renewable energy adoption. They play a central role in strengthening the ambition, quality, and implementation of NDCs to achieve sustainable development, build resilience, and address key climate vulnerabilities.
ASECCC 2025 provides a vital platform to advance renewable energy solutions, with a strong emphasis on solar energy and a commitment to a just energy transition. The conference will focus on how cities can harness Asia’s vast solar energy potential, advocate for ambitious NDCs, and demonstrate how solar energy can reduce greenhouse gas emissions while enhancing urban climate resilience.
By bringing together leaders from governments, academia, the private sector, and civil society, ASECCC 2025 aims to accelerate Asia’s renewable energy transition. Through fostering collaboration, showcasing innovative urban solutions, and inspiring actionable strategies, the conference seeks to empower cities as key agents of change in shaping a resilient, climate-ready future for Asia.
Nominate a Speaker
ASECCC transcends the boundaries of a mere conference and stands as an esteemed platform that fosters groundbreaking sustainable solutions and cultivates meaningful partnerships. It provides speakers with a stage to enhance their visibility and influence among esteemed peers and leaders spanning diverse industries.
We kindly request the submission of speaker proposals or nominations for consideration at ASECCC. Self-nominations are encouraged, and submissions will be reviewed continuously until the programme is finalised in mid-July 2025.
Preference will be given to non-commercial submissions that prioritise actionable approaches ("how") over theoretical discussions ("why"). Submissions should outline practical pathways for change, supported by factual examples that highlight the business benefits of driving sustainable development across an organisation's value chain.
