This course aims to empower youths who are motivated by the vision of a sustainable world and aspire to be climate advocates against the climate emergency. Participants will learn from leaders, experts and youth advocates from Hong Kong and overseas and will gain valuable and relevant climate advocacy skills.
Programme Highlights:
- Youth Led Community Project: Participants will also lead community climate projects, working alongside peers who share their environmental concerns. This hands-on experience includes engaging with local stakeholders and presenting proposals directly to policymakers, giving youth a platform to influence climate policies and decisions.
- Global and Regional Engagement: At the international level, participants will join the Local Conference of Youth Hong Kong (LCOY HK), which is endorsed by the Official Children and Youth Constituency (YOUNGO) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). They will have opportunities to attend major climate events, such as the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body sessions (SBs) and Climate Weeks, where they can experience global climate negotiations, gain insights from regional best practices, and network with international advocates.
- Continuous Mentorship: Throughout the programme, participants receive constant guidance from experienced mentors who support their development of climate knowledge, advocacy skills, and professional networks.
