Since 1967, MHA has been providing direct services and has developed comprehensive community rehabilitation services. These services include residential care, community support, day training, vocational rehabilitation, employment support, and special education. The organisation follows a holistic approach to cater to the diverse needs of individuals in mental recovery, intellectually disabled individuals, and persons with disabilities. There are currently over 50 government-funded service units and projects, serving tens of thousands of clients each year. The association also operates supported accommodation for individuals in recovery on a self-sustaining basis and has established a non-profit counseling and development center. Additionally, they manage a special school that provides residential care for severely disabled students, a social enterprise with over 30 social projects, and a training institute that provides supervision and training for mental health recovery units in Mainland China and the Greater Bay Area.

The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong Jockey Club Building, located on Kong Lok Road in Kwun Tong, was completed in 1997. It provides accommodation and vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with mental illness and intellectual disabilities. The building consists of five service units, including training and employment service center and a few dormitories.

40 pieces of solar photovoltaic(PV) panels were installed on the rooftop of the building, with a system capacity of 22 kWp and the estimated power generation in the first-year is 22,345.9 kWh.

The solar panels were secured on the rooftop with concrete blocks

The weather station mounted on the stands of the PV panels collects irradiance and ambient temperature data, which allows engineers to examine the performance of the system from the detected data. It could also be used for taking preventive measures, monitoring potential risks and making timely corrections to the system if necessary.
