SolarVisit Playground Association X CUHK Department of Geography and Resource Management

It was our honour to have the Chinese University students from the Department of Geography and Resource Management join us today at the SolarVisit programme. Due to the Covid, CarbonCare InnoLab has been organising virtual SolarVisit through zoom for a long while. Yet today we can finally arrange a face-to-face visit with the university students at Silvermine Bay in Mui Wo. We very much appreciated the venue provided by the Hong Kong Playground Association.

Before getting on-site to observe the solar panels, students were gathered in the meeting room as a talk about Climate Change and renewable energy were provided by Ken, our project engineer. Students paid extra attention to the talk as some of them were jotting down the notes. Since the participants majored in Geography and Resource Management, they already had a certain level of knowledge on the climate and renewable energy topics, they discussed in-depth issues with our engineer and raised legitimate concerns on the climate justice topic. A lot of them were interested in the practical installation process. We were grateful that the students did take a lot from their studies and teacher as well. Students were highly engaged in the SolarVisit as they asked Ken, our engineer quite a number of quality questions. Silvermine Bay is a nice place with a fascinating view, the photos we took with the group looks really nice under the sun.

From the conversation with the teacher, we acknowledged that the students were genuinely appreciated the additional learning experience outside of class. We hope that this visit could give them a fruitful experience and knowledge for their studies.
