“Jockey Club Solar Care Programme” Online Briefing
Date: 30 June, 2022 (Thursday)
Time: 14:30-15:30
CCIL held an online briefing session on The Jockey Club SolarCare Programme to provide the opportunity for interested non-profit organisations to have a better understanding of the programme. The briefing also answers questions about the programme, the Feed-in Tariffs application procedures, and also the construction and management of solar power systems. We have also invited representatives of non-profit organisations (SolarCare Partners) to share their experiences.
To begin with, Mr. Chong Chan Yau, Co-founder, and CEO of CCIL introduced the content of the Jockey Club SolarCare Programme and shared the progress of the solar power system construction. Up till now, 35 solar partners have participated in the programme, 13 solar sites have been built, with a total system capacity of 883 kWp. The total yield is about 1.13 million kWh, equivalent to reducing carbon emissions of 699 tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-e). Mr. Ken Tai, Senior Project Engineer of CCIL, explained how to read the solar power system data of various partners on our website. Then, our SolarCare Partners introduced the background of their organisations and shared the story of why they joined the programme and the benefits they had received. The three guests were Sr Cheung Ngan-shan, Superintendent of Precious Blood Children's Village; Ms Polly Yu, Head of Finance and Administration Division, Christian Action, and Mr She Kai Hung, Vice Principal of Gideon Youth Military Training School respectively.
We hope that more non-profit organisations will participate in the scheme to jointly promote Hong Kong's transformation into a renewable energy city with us. Details: www.ccinnolab.org/solarcare/zh/BeOurPartners
